The film led the night with 10 nominations, followed closely by Gunga Jumna with 7. Interestingly, though released in 1960, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai was not considered for the 8th edition but went on to dominate the 4th Filmfare Awards with 4 wins, including Best Film and Best Actor.     Another highlight from the evening was Shubha Khote’s double nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category for her roles in Gharana and Sasural. His previous film, Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda, failed to meet expectations and left both critics and audiences disappointed. By choosing a biopic rooted in cultural legacy and artistic excellence, Gowtam is keen on reinventing himself and returning to rooted and strong storytelling. A subject like MS Subbulakshmi’s life offers immense scope for nuanced writing and soulful cinema.          Sai Pallavi fans excited     Interestingly, Sai Pallavi has not signed any new film so far in Telugu after rustic drama, Tandel. Hence, the biopic makes it even more significant for her to create a splash across the South. Known for her selective approach and content-driven choices, the actress always prioritized roles with depth and scope for exhibiting acting chops than masala potboilers. That makes her a natural choice for portraying an icon like MS Subbulakshmi whose life and music continue to inspire generations.
